Trending Thierry+Swansea preview

Top of the morning to you all.

Emirates stadium still seems to be buzzing with Thierry Henry's goal scoring return back to the club and the youngsters seem to be relishing the opportunity to be playing alongside such an iconic figure of the club. Kieran Gibbs believes that the return of Henry has lifted the spirits of the dressing room and that's not too hard to believe when you have a legend like Henry as your buddy and teammate, it definitely gives you a boost. Psychologically. Hear Kieran;

"He has added something to the dressing room, not just on the pitch. We know he can’t play every game but his personality has come in and lifted the whole changing room. It is a pleasure to have him in the squad again.”

I think the addition of Henry is good, not only for the squad but for the strikers in particular, most especially Theo Walcott. The pacy winger has said it time and again about how much he would like to lead the line up front for the club but his goal scoring return this season of two league goals is hardly going to give the manager a second thought on the matter so he really could use some help from the goal scoring king himself to point him in the right direction. Marouane Chamakh could also be someone who could use some goalscoring lessons from Henry but am not so sure how much that would help him because he is in such bad form that he wld need Henry, Shearer, and Ronaldo de Lima all put together as his tutors to do him "ANY" good.

When Henry scored on Monday night, he became the first player to be celebrating a goal both on the pitch and outside the stadium albeit a bronze version of course, but I have to admit the lad still has it in him eh, as the goal reminds us of the Thierry of old. Lukasz Fabianski sums up the goal,

"That goal showed everything about him, his technique, his quality, his first touch, his confidence, his calmness - it was just amazing to see it."

Am sure we all want him to bang them in with reckless abandon at least for the duration of his loan but Thierry himself is under no illusions as to what he can do and has limited himself to cameo appearances during his time.

Right; to pressing issues; The squad heads to the Liberty Stadium on Sunday to face Swansea and the growing injury list is definitely something to give the manager some concern. We lost Coq on Monday night with an hamstring which rules him out for at least 2 weeks and thus limiting the options of the manager even further. In midfield I expect the trio of Arteta, Song and Ramsey to start and hoping that Arshavin gives another committed performance like he did against Leeds. That was the first time in about a gazillion apperances for Arsenal that I would be impressed with him and I really do hope he improves on that.

There has not been much of history between the two sides in the past and besides the one nil victory we had over them last September, the last time the two sides met in the league was on new year day in 1983 and the last time we lost to them in the League was in October 1981. so baring any new injuries, I expect the squad to be. Szczesny - Djourou, Mertersacker, Koscielny, Miquel - Song, Arteta, Ramsey - Arshavin, Van Persie, Walcott.

So thats right about it I hope the guys bury the disappointment of loosing to Fulham and get all the 3 points available. Enjoy the game wherever you are watching it. God bless the Arsenal. Iree o
