Now That the Euros is Over

Top of the Morning to Y’all
I woke up this morning feeling very bright and mother nature also seem to be in a good mood this lovely Monday morning as the weather has been very sunny and soothing. Neither too hot nor cold, it’s been just perfect and to cap a perfect morning, I got to work before my boss. I told y’all two can play the early bird game.
Yes the Euros is over for Team Netherlands and from the performance they put on display throughout their three games, they should not be too dis heartened by their final position in the group of death. They got exactly what they deserved. It’s so hard to imagine that this is the same Netherlands team that got to the finals of the world cup just two years ago. The egos of the players seem to have gone over the roof overnight and in the end they not only let themselves down, they also let their whole country down.
Van Marwick has been taking the hit for it as most coaches do after the team fails but this morning, my focus is not about the failure of the Dutch team, its about van Persie. A part of me feels relieved they are out and that gives him more time to rest and recuperate from the stress of preparing for a major tournament in preparedness for the new season.
While watching the game last night at the local viewing center, I got into an argument with a fellow Arsenal fan about his contract situation and he said that Robin was free to leave if he so desires. I normally don’t get into public arguments but I couldn’t stomach the thought that after one great season after all his years at the club, he then decides to go. It makes absolutely no sense. I think Robin should show his loyalty to the club by agreeing a new deal just like we have been loyal to him all the years when he was injured. I wonder if it will be so difficult to get him to sign again if he had had another injury plagued season like in previous campaigns.
From what I understand, the bone of contention so far is for the club to show ambition by signing quality players to aid the clubs push for trophies and so far, the club hasn’t disappointed. The arrival of Podolski and subsequently Giroud and hopefully M’Villa is more than enough to prove to him that we all want to win trophies.
Fans worldwide should also join the call for him to sign up. I cringe whenever I see stories all over that Citeh are trying to sign him. I just find it hard to imagine seeing him in their colours. I believe that he is not as classless and cash driven like some other fuck faced retards that used to wear the Arsenal shirt. I won’t give their names the dignity of being mentioned in my blog. There is a fine thin line between love and hate and Robin might just find that out if he fails to sign a new deal and join Citeh.
Now that the Euros is over, Robin and his representatives should meet with the club to iron out terms of a new deal and subsequently sign it. I strongly believe that with Robin fully fit for another season coupled with our new signings as well as defensive reinforcements; we can definitely win a trophy. The team spirit is great; we have quality players capable of winning and the tactical nous of the manager. All that is required is for them to go out and believe that they can do it and well, DO IT.
Another whose tournament is over is Andrey Arshavin and reports surfaced that he had an altercation with Russian fans who have blamed him for the country’s ouster from the Euros. The reports claimed Andrey said to the fans:

The fact that we didn't meet your expectations is not our problem - it's your problem

Oh Andrey, Andrey, Andrey, he has never been the diplomatic one has he? Remember he was the one when he just got to London said that the British people were boring and that women should never be allowed to drive? It really must be a rude shock to them that they didn’t qualify after that very impressive performance in the first game against The Czechs. That's football anyway, one moment you are flying but if you keep your feet off the pedal, you will be punished. It’s never over until it’s over. Valuable lessons for those who are wise.
For Germany, they march on into the quarter finals against Greece and Poldi celebrated his 100th cap for his country with a goal and at 27, he is the youngest European ever to reach 100 caps for his country. At 27, he is at his prime and he will be playing for us next season. I am genuinely excited about Podolski and he could be Wenger’s best piece of business in a very long time. Another amazing thing is that we got him for as cheap as £12million. Who says Wenger is not a genius huh?
Germany’s match through the group of death has been nothing short of remarkable and their performance in the group stages has further increased their chances of winning the trophy. If Group B was the group of death, then Germany were the Grim Reaper and every other team should be scared.
On a more interesting note, the premier league fixtures for the 2012/2013 season has been released and we kick off our campaign at home against Sunderland on the 18th of August and finish the season on the 19th against Newcastle at the Sports Direct Arena where I hope the league trophy would be handed to Van Persie.
