More Squad Deficiency Issues + Man Utd Game Review

Top of the morning to y'all

We once again witnessed a game that we could have won & we let it slip away from our grasp resulting in our third straight loss in the league and frankly that is not good enough to maintain our top four status for next season.

I think we started the game rather brightly in the first 15mins with Walcott -who once again had a well below average performance- testing the United keeper with a weak shot. After that we took our foot off the pedal and let United come at us time and again with Nani as Djourou's tormentor-in-chief as United constantly probed the right side of our defense. Szczesny made a smart save from Nani's first time shot after Evra wriggled free of Song. The goal came in the first half stoppage time when the ever-green Baba Giggs capitalised on The Big Fucking German's poor clearance, bundled down the right and delivered an inch-perfect cross into the far post for Valencia to head home. It was a very bad time to concede a goal as it knocked the stuffing out of the team.

We responded well to the goal and came out strongly in the second half. Nico Yennaris was handed his league debut after replacing the fumbling Djourou and the youngster gave a good account of himself. We could have gone level earlier on in the second half when Chris Smelling slipped on the ball and Rosicky charged down on goal and found Van Persie in the box only for the skipper to blast wide when it was easier to score, I'm still shocked just thinking about the miss.

Arsenal's confidence grew as the game progressed and Ramsey blasted wide from the edge of the box after a neat footwork to create space for the shot. We commintted bodies forward with the danger of being exposed to counter attacks and it almost cost us when Welbeck latched onto a clearance from deep, outpacing our BFG and poking the ball past the onrushing Szczesny only for the BFG to recover and clear the ball on the line and I said to myself "God bless his lanky legs".

Our goal finally came when Koz made an excellent tackle in our half, the ball found the impressive AOC and he slipped a clever pass to Van Persie who made no mistakes to beat the stretching Lindegaard. AOC was subbed for Arshavin almost immidiately after the goal and this was greeted with heated boos. Even the captain had to react NOOOOOOOOOO!!! Would you blame him, Arsenal's best player on the pitch was being subbed for one who contributes a little more than nothing. The substitution proved costly as Valencia bumbled down the right flank, did a neat one two with the better of the 2 Parks on the pitch and found Welbeck in the box and he made no mistakes to put the game to bed.

Wenger said of the performance after the game.
I am really disappointed because we had a difficult first half, a nervous first half. [It was] technically not at the level we wanted and we came back well with a fantastic fighting spirit in the second half. I thought we had the chances to win the game quite comfortably in the second half but you feel the Manchester United team is a bit more mature in every position than we are.

Damn right you are Arsene, Man U were more matured than us in every department. The deficiences in his squad are not just being exposed, but he choose to do nothing about it and instead he has chosen to rely on players who produce next to nothing when the team needs them to come through. Am not going to mention names -it will be difficult but y'all know these players- I think some players leave me so frustrated that i question if they are enough quality to play for Arsenal and yet that manager has chosen to have a blind and disastrous faith in them. Is he just realising this widely known fact that the Man United team is more matured than his team? What does he intend to do about it?

As true as it might be that there are new challengers for the premier league title, the manager has failed to tune his team up to emerging trends and now the team is at a risk of not playing champions league football next year a situation which He describes 'would be a disaster'. He went on to say that spending money is not the target but is he trying to tell us that it is actually difficult to find a player in Europe to do a better job on the right flank than Theo Walcott? Oops I mentioned a name; or find a replacement for our injured left back duo? Nico Yennaris had to be thrown into the game at half time for his league debut to face a very tricky Nani. Djourou was that terrible on the day. Is he saying it will be difficult to find a replacement for him? I told y'all it would be difficult not to mention names. I'm just so pissed and I know you all share in my sentiment. We all should just hope and pray for a better run of games and a qualifying spot for the europe.

Till Wednesday, God bless the Arsenal. Iree o
