Swansea vs Arsenal Review: Perplexing and Frustrating

Morning y'all

My people have a saying, "If a child is being a truant and his parents are telling him to stop his tyranny for their sake and he fails to listen, sooner or later, he would be told to stop his tyranny so as not to ruin his own life". Yesterday's game against Swansea highlighted all that has been wrong with the Arsenal squad for a number of seasons that have been pointed out over and over again but the manager has failed to address. It has become so perplexing and frustrating that I think its time the manager realizes that the consequences may be more severe on him and the squad than the fans.

We started the game brightly by scoring in the first five miniutes against a side that had conceded just four goals at home in the league through a great through pass from the enstranged Andrey Arshavin which Robin Van Persie duly converted. After the goal, the Swans duly took over the game and their efforts were rewarded when the lively Nathan Dyer was brought down in the box by Aaron Ramey and Sinclair converted the resulting penalty, 4 out of 4 for the lad. Wenger has said that Dyer dived and it wasn't a penalty... blah.... blah... blah...!!! This is football and players diving to win penalties is not new. We might chastise the referee for allowing himself to be fooled by such antics but am sure Wenger would remember the 2009/2010 season when Arsenal played Celtic in the champions league playoff and Eduardo dived in the box to win a penalty. It was all well and good then. Swansea had 57% of the possesion in the first half which told the story of how well they dominated the ball and controlled the game and credit must be given to them.

The second half began the same way the first when we had a good moment of possession before Arshavin fired wide. That was much about it for us and as good as it ever got too. The Swans took over the game again and they were duly rewarded when Arshavin and Ramsey "connived" to give the ball away in the vital area and Dyer was able to find the net from Allen's through ball. the turning point of the game for us should have been when the over-zealous Swansea center backs allowed Djourou find Walcott with a lovely through ball which he duly dispatched with aplomb. That was the only thing Walcott did right the whole 90mins he was on the pitch and while we were still celebrating the equaliser, our Big Fucking German allowed Danny Graham a striaght run at goal without as much as a chase, for the Swansea winner. It was a viscious kick in the teeth. Not mid-section. Not groin and they saw out the game without even breaking a sweat.

The glaring need for Arsenal to sign quality players was once again on display which brings me back to my earlier parable about my people. As much as the fans will love to see a high profile signing in the club, the effects of not investing in the squad may come back to haunt Wenger more than the fans as Spurs have shown they are not going to sit around to play the second fiddle in North London.....My God, those guys are 10 points ahead of us and the ultimate price to pay would be to miss out on a top four place and consequently champions league football which Wenger himself admitted to being his priority every season.

After the game last night, there was a major row on Twitter where an estranged fan actually threatened the life of Aaron Ramsey and blaming him for the death of his former national team manager Gary Speed. The dude also went on to tell Ramsey not to leave his house this week cos his safety was not guaranteed. As much as we are pissed at the squad for their shambolic performance, we honestly don't want such people as fans its not good for the morale of the players and the image of the club. The good thing about yesterday's game is that this is January and the transfer window is still open for Wenger to plug the loop-holes in his squad....................But would he???

God bless the Arsenal. Iree o
